all bottled up

A long time ago when I was a kid I was in a "Craft 4-H". It was so much fun and I learned a lot of different crafts. One of the crafts I remember doing was to create a cool almost "rustic" looking bottle.

You take a jar or bottle....some sort of glass works best, and tear off little pieces of masking tape and stick them on the bottle randomly. (you can cover the whole thing, or like in my pictures, i experimented in having parts left clear to add to the affect of antiqued.) Next you take shoe polish (i did brown) and take a cloth or paper towel and rub the shoe polish over the masking tape. It will stick the most into the cracks and then just stain the rest of the tape. This is how you get the antiqued look.

Its really simple, the only part that can be a little time consuming is putting the tape on it. Just make sure that the glass is clean and completely dry before applying the masking tape.
